Launched in the year 2000, Dwell is an architecture and design magazine that is devoted to the modern aesthetic. As one of the only of its kind, this publication explores the concept of considering both the interior and exterior designs of a home while striving for ultimate harmony. Dwell magazine is also well known for its keen attention to environmentally conscious options and availabilities in the efforts to modernize your home. Within the last few years, Dwell has received the National Magazine Award for General Excellence and Adweek's Creative Team of the Year Award. Every issue offers information on the newest and freshest innovations in the industry, with artful photographs to accompany nearly every article. As the magazine's motto states, Dwell strives for you to always feel “At Home in the Modern World.”
Dwell magazine is a great architecture and design magazine for somebody with an extremely modern aesthetic. Beyond the exterior and interior design ideas, this magazine also profiles new modern technology for the home. They have a really fresh take on "going green," which is a subject that I am passionate about. Their environmental suggestions are ones in which can realistically be implemented into your life and home. I also really enjoy the articles that profile well-known and successful designers, also provided with an inside look into their actual homes. While the pieces and ideas featured in this magazine can be a little to pricey for the average American, its a great source of ideas and inspirations.
Dwell is my favorite of all the design magazines. It offers a different approach in that it covers both interior and exterior design and architecture. The features in every issue are equally gorgeous and realistic. Instead of offering features that serve merely as a source of inspiration, Dwell will give you ideas that you can actually implement directly into your home. Plus, this is one design magazine that keeps environmental concerns in mind, which is so vital these days. Issues offer a great range of topics, so you're sure to find something that interests you and a new area of your home, design or style to explore. One of my favorite parts of the magazine is the "Modern Market" section that offes ideas on new products that will give your home a contemporary, chic look. They are always so unique. My home would definitely not be what it is today if it weren't for some of the great ideas I have gotten from Dwell. If you're into the idea of expressing style through your home, I would recommend that you subscribe to this magazine. You don't have to be a professional or have design experience whatsoever to love what this magazine has to offer.
I love Modern design and this is my favorite magazine. I read every issue from cover to cover. In addition, this is the only magazine that I collect. The reason being is that I bookmark pages that I find inspiring and return to them later for reference. It is chock full of information, beautiful and entertaining.
