Outstanding Magazine - By Freddie

12/2/2008

I Recently started to get re-involved with my R/C collection. I have RTFs, ARTFs and build kits scattered around one bedroom turned into a workshop. I wasn't too sure as to which magazine I would find support from and checked out Fly RC, Back Yard FLying, and Model Airplane News. Well, by far, Model Airplane News is the best for two reasons. It is easier to read and understand, and its frequency is 12 per year. The other mags tened to just review current trends in the R/C hobby, and I found them uninteresting. Thanks for a great magazine, and I can tell that I will once again be a life long subscriber!

I really like the articles in the magazine but I cAre not one bit for the A.R.F. and R.T.F.reviews. What sense of accomplishment comes from buying a plane as comes with the joy of creating a masterpiece. I started building model airplanes way back in 1935 when a kit cost ten cents. Grandma had them flying in her house and so did mama. I was so proud. Now the thrill has been rekindled after a hitch in the navy then the Guard and raising a family. Just six months ago I rediscovered model aircraft after seeing one flying in the pawn shop. I joined the A.M.A. and a the Fun Flyers Club. I just can't see buying a built machine. designed and flown my own creations. Now I'm an adict. MODEL AVIATION and MODEL AIRPLANE NEWS find me patiently waiting for each edition. Harold (Jack) baker
