Hats off to Jeff Hertzberg and Zoe Francois, the recipe published in the December issue is wonderful. I have always wanted to make this type of bread and have tried many recipes but; this is care free and easy and less than 5 minuets a day. Thank you Robert from Montville CT.

Mother Earth News magazine is amazing, and its content is unlike any other under its category of publications! Mother (as its dedicated readers refer to it as) is made for people who are interested in living a self-reliant and self-sufficient life. As a native resident of California, articles such as "Rainwater Harvesting" are relevant and important, as I promise there are articles and topics that will be to you! I gave Mother Earth News five stars --- definitely subscribe!

My parents read Mother Earth in the late '70s, and I just recently became a subscriber after getting very into progressive thinking and living. I enjoy that Mother Earth New is not out of touch like some other magazines of its genre, and that it adds a modern aspect to all of the topics covered. This is a magazine that everyone should have in this day and age. I love the colorful spreads, and that it touches on issues that we all should be familiar with and think about. While I always look forward to receiving this magazine, I gave it 4 out of 5 because I want to see more of those great articles on living a truly self-sufficient lifestyle!

This is a great magazine for anyone who is interested in homestead type living. Lots of articles on independent living. They not only give suggestions, but also include detailed information on how to build things such as wind powered electricity, drill your own water well, and much more useful information for the homesteader. If it's good for people and the earth, they will probably have an in depth article about it in this magazine. There is also a seed swap for gardeners!

Started out of their house in 1970, John and Jane Shuttleworth had their timing exactly right with Mother Earth News. Ecology and all things natural were back in fashion and the renewed interest in self sufficiency was right on track with the theme of this magazine. Published bi-monthly for more than 30 years and now owned by Ogden publications, it has come through various changes in ownership intact. Mother Earth News is glossy now and caters to the yuppie rather than the farmer, but the general consensus is that it is headed back in the right direction. It's main bent is still self sufficiency, it is packed full of recipes, how to articles and general information about conservation in our daily lives. I highly recommend this magazine.
