I bought a subscription for Wine Spectator through this website as a gift for my husband, and he is completely pleased with its service and thrilled with the magazine's content! Wine Spectator provides its readers with reliable and trustworthy information on the best of the best from all around the world, tested by world-class tasters. Although I am not a seasoned wine-connoisseur myself, I trust my husband's regard and he has received this magazine very well.
There are a lot of great wine magazines and guides out there, but I enjoy how Wine Spectator incorporates so many other aspects of life into its pages. I love the articles on the spectacular cellars in California and the detailed reviews of restaurants and chefs from around the world. When trying out new wines, I appreciate the fact that I have a trustworthy and reliable source in the magazine's critics, writers and editors. Having a subscription is well worth the price. Not only is it entertaining, but you're essentially getting an insider's guide to travel and dining. Actual guides, which aren't even as good as Wine Spectator, cost double, triple the price. Plus, you'll never waste money on a bottle of wine that ends up not suiting your tastes, because you know exactly what you're getting into thanks to the in-depth reviews and critiques!
Published 17 times a year, this wine enthusiats magazine features education and events in each issue. For the person who knows everything about wines..or nothing at all, WS is a terrific resource. I especially like the detachable cards in each issue with the names of featured wines on it. There are also lists which give the less experienced wine lover a basis from which to make a selection ie.."The 50 Finest California Reds". Each issue also has rating lists in which, from the prospective of the editors the wines score. One handy feature with this is that there is information about the wineries and how to contact them. Informative, educational, and well written WS is an interesting read for anyone looking to delve into the world of wines.
